As a former tennis professional, Zev Weinstein came to the realization that his talents could be better served through a different court — the court of law. Successful athletes devise winning strategies under pressure. This prepared him well for the competitive nature of litigation and the challenging issues that can often arise unexpectedly in legal cases.
A top competitor
Following his athletic career, Mr. Weinstein attended Loyola Law School, where he participated as a Scott Moot Court competitor, graduating in the top 15 percent of his class in 2007. His affinity for hard work and attention to detail led him to gain valuable experience at one of West Los Angeles’ most well-known boutique firms, Tesser, Ruttenberg & Grossman, LLP. Here, he was instrumental in obtaining numerous high-value settlements for his clients.
Private practice followed by a strategic partnership
Mr. Weinstein founded his own firm, the Law Offices of Zev Weinstein, in Santa Monica in 2009. In 2014, he became partners with Michael Schwimer, forming Schwimer Weinstein, LLP. Schwimer Weinstein focuses on catastrophic personal injury matters, business litigation, employment disputes, landlord tenant issues and real estate law.
Leading the firm’s personal injury and landlord-tenant divisions
In 2015, Mr. Weinstein was named to the inaugural list of Top 10 Personal Injury Attorneys Under 40 in Southern California by Super Lawyers. He’s been honored as a Rising Star personal injury attorney by Super Lawyers from 2013 through 2016. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum for the top trial attorneys in America, achieving results of over $1 million and was recently named a Top 10 personal injury litigator by the National Association of Personal Injury Attorneys.
Examples of his court successes include securing a $2 million judgment for two children injured at a day care facility, a $1.115 million settlement for an employee who was injured on the job by a maintenance company and $285,000 for an employee sexually harassed by a supervisor.
Mr. Weinstein is a former trustee of the Santa Monica Bar Association and active member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He also holds a real estate brokers license, which proves useful in his analysis and management of real estate cases.
Mr. Weinstein is a strong advocate for the rights of California residents. He continues to apply his experience and knowledge to help you achieve success both in and out of the courtroom.
